Alyssa’s Chameleon
A beautiful chameleon from Alyssa in Year 2 at Harrow. Isn’t it splendid? I think you should be an illustrator when you grow up! Thank you for your fabulous art work. Keep drawing!

Lots of smiles,
Patrick, Gilbert, Pilot, Skye, Cosmos, Chameleon and Jed-the-Hammerhead are really excited about their trip to Bangkok and Rayong starting on Wednesday.
They are looking forward to seeing lots of new places and faces and making hundreds of new friends. Patrick even agreed to having a bath to smarten himself up a bit and Cosmos has been perfecting his latest hit whale song!
This wonderful chameleon from Simmie in Kenya finally made it to Phuket – what a long journey for a small creature! The heart on its body tells me it might just be the very rare and special Valentine’s Day chameleon. Just check out those feet – great for climbing!
Well done Simmie, I’m really sorry the book has been printed already but your picture is now here on my website and I am sure lots of people will see it and enjoy your fabulous artwork.
A big ‘Thank you’ to Simon for this fabulous chameleon. He’s really well camouflaged among those tall plants. Simon is a young illustrator who lives in Germany. We met in Italy in the summer and he sent the picture to me in Thailand so this chameleon has come a l-o-n-g way. Well done, a great job!
I am sorry the book has already been printed so I could not put your chameleon in it but here it is for everyone who visits the website to see. Bravo!
Just look at all these fabulous chameleons! Thank you to all my young illustrators from Tenterden Infants’ School; Claremont Primary School, Tunbridge Wells; The Croft Preparatory School, Warwickshire; Bradbury Junior School, Hong Kong, Braeburn School Nanyuki, Kenya; and British International School Phuket. FABULOUS job, everyone! These pages are really bright, colourful and creative. 🙂
Sticky buns and jelly sweets

We all enjoyed this special tea! (more…)
Cosmos enjoyed making some new friends at the pre-books sale signing at British International School.
Here we are having a chat with Nathan and Miso.
WOW! Patrick, Cosmos and the crew have been very busy for the last two weeks!
It’s been one Book Week after another with Phuket International Academy, British International School, Kajonkiet and Head Start.
We’ve all had a fabulous time with storytelling sessions, book signings, writing workshops and making lots of new friends.
Highlights of our Book Weeks were:
Morning tea with the library assistants from Year 5 at BIS. They were well prepared with some excellent ‘questions for the author’ 🙂
A special pre-order book signing arranged but the wonderful and oh-so-organised Miss Donna.
Lots of fun and games and fabulous photographs at PIA as well as a very warm reception for Cosmos the whale puppet. Thank you dynamic Diane Therien 🙂
Workshops and storytelling sessions at Kajonkiet, a hilarious drama session with the Year 5 and 6 students and the story writing competition. Many thanks and big whale-y smiles to Nicky and all the teachers.
Thank you to all the amazing staff, students and children who made the last two weeks such FUN!
Here are some photos from the BIS pre-sale.
And these are from our storytelling session at PIA
Hi Everyone,
Patrick and friends had a wonderful time at Head Start School last week. We saw all the primary children and Cosmos loved showing them his tricks – ‘breaching’, ‘diving’ and ‘spy-hopping’. The children played the action game really well and Cosmos thought they made wonderful whales! We were all really impressed by how knowledgeable the children were about animals, migration and whales.
Patrick was thrilled to see so many old friends again and of course Great Grandpa Gilbert made an appearance so that everyone could sing him the Happy Birthday song. As usual he joined in the singing with wings flapping and lots of loud parrot squawks. At 103 years old he’s still very bright and lively! Both parrots enjoyed lots of hugs from the ‘small people’ in years one two and three.
Thank you to the fabulous duo Els Bellon and Nola Russell in the library for their enthusiastic support and warm welcome.
