Two lovely university students came to my rescue in Bangkok recently. They didn’t have much English but, “Please, we’d like to help you,” was perfect! They carried my bags (books, puppets poster and all) as well as their own from the Bangkok BTS to school before turning back to go to their university which we had passed ten minutes before. If you ever see this post, girls, a big thank you to you both!
An exciting trip to Rayong – so different, so rural and so quiet compared with Bangkok. Many thanks and a big smile for Snownoi for planning the Book Fair and my visits to REPS and Garden International School Rayong. We were welcomed with great energy and enthusiasm. A BIG thank you to Matthew and Cathie Walsh at Garden International and to everyone who helped to make my visit a fabulous experience. Thanks also to the wonderful Miss Rose at REPS.
Just look at these fabulous cookies! What works of art. Thank you to Prim’s wonderful mum who created these splendid treats for the Book Week Bake-Off at St. Andrews, Dusit, Bangkok – far too good to eat! Lots of other magnificent creations – great job everyone!
Fun, friendly and a fantastic reception for us all. The children at ASB were delightful and we enjoyed two full days of stories, workshops, games, puppets dances and parrot hugs. The kindergarten children did a wonderful parrot dance. Huge thanks to Claire Connor for her amazing organisation and help. We all had a great time!
We’re just back from a wonderful trip to Sri Lanka and four fabulous Gateway colleges. A very big thank you to Dr. H.K. Alles for inviting me and to the principals, teachers, staff, and children who made the visits such fun and organised everything so beautifully. Warm welcomes and smiles everywhere. We came home to Phuket with a barrel of magical memories, and very few books!
Things got a bit hectic at the end of the day in Kandy!
The books flew out of the boxes!
Recognised at dinner in the hotel. This very friendly chap came over to chat to us.
And then we met another family who wanted a photo 🙂
Chameleon has two new friends in Venice. Twins Giada and Matteo were happy to add another book to their collection. Giada painted the chameleon at the back of the book. It is beautiful – well done, and thank you for the lovely photos.
Niamh O’Connor sent this dolphin as a thank you for the Cosmos story. Lovely picture and great artwork. Another illustrator in the making, I think. Thanks Niamh
